A recent survey showed that 88% of people view clean eating as positive. In this video I lay out 5 reasons why it isn't as great as it seems. The other day, I was able to work in a double quarter pounder and baked apple pie into my muscle gain plan. Having had anorexia six years ago, I couldn’t believe the amount of freedom there was in changing my paradigm. Now, this isn’t something I do often, but I’m okay!! And very happily getting them gainz! 💪
Wholefood plantbased ... S.o.s. free ....
Fish, brown rice, whole grain carbs, fruits, vegetables, nuts. Simple, avoid sugary foods and drinks, celery juice in the morning and beet juice with fruit for pre workout. Pumps will be better with beet juice as pre. If you’re going to eat foods high in unhealthy fat and cholesterol as a main source of protein understand that you’re clogging arteries, reducing blood flow, hampering muscle recovery, and hampering your bodies ability to clear waste. All of which hamper your gains and workout.
I don't know the difference between the carbs composition in sweet potatoes and white potatoes. However sweet potatoes are not from the nightshade family like white potatoes and is a good source of fibre...this also means the sweet potato plant can be eaten but the white potato plant is poisonous.
Very confused on this clean eating label. Dealing with a peptic ulcer so I am limiting my meat intake and spicy/acidic foods for now (too much tomatoes can be potentially bad). I also have a bit of a high cholesterol issue recently and have been allergic to eggs for at least 12 years now. It is a tad of a challenge to my diet but I think it would be too extreme to completely cut them out as opposed to limiting them.
This works to a degree. For me as a recovering type 2 diabetic, carbs like bread (even what are considered to be “healthy” breads) are treat items and not to be eaten on a regular basis because I know what impact they have on my blood glucose and insulin levels. Eating clean helps to moderate that to a great degree. I don’t eliminate it entirely from my life, but it becomes something to have on the odd occasion rather than an everyday food item.
The problem is that "bad" foods are addictive
I eat super clean. Vegan, don’t eat after 3pm. Feel great. Best shape/ energy of my life. Never going back.
I just eat a clean lunch because it's easy to plan and pack. Dinner always changes and Saturdays I eat whatever I want after a pretty hard workout. It works for me well
Instead of ice cream I now mix one serving of Greek yogurt with half a scoop of protein for flavor and add some flax and raspberries. A lot less calories. 6x protein and I like it better than ice cream.
I think for an overeater like me. I struggle with weight. Clean eating just allows me to eat as much food as normal while lowering my overall caloric intake. I can eat a huge salad that has less Cals than 5 Oreos.
Well my goal is to loose fat first and gain some muscles as secondary target. So i'm clean eating but sure the question is what does that mean. First it means i'm in caloric deficit. Second it's high protein, low carb. Third it's not extremely low carb, i always mix potato/rice as primary carbs source with vegetables as a side dish.my/ dish.My primary source of protein is meat and whey.
I just think people don't have enough discipline, just suck it up and do it !!!!!!!!! I see junk food as quite toxic, I really don't want to put processed foods in my body. I have also been raised by a family with a mother who is a Dr of Nutritional Biochemistry, i have well and truly been brainwashed.............lol.
At some point though, it's not about fat loss or gain.. it becomes more about health overall.
I’d love to see a more thorough video on auto regulation! Thanks a ton!
Jesus, it’s really not that difficult. Everything in moderation, and stick mainly to unprocessed foods, with a little junk here and there. The kind and, how many, of calories you take in, is the main thing. See…? Not. That. Difficult.
I don't like clean eating but I'm trying to lose 1lb per week and need to be in a moderate caloric deficit, and so far it seems like I need to eat around 1700 calories per day. There is no way for me to realistically hit my protein requirements for building muscle (~115g per day) while also hitting 1700 calories a day unless I'm eating extremely clean.
So maybe for people at eating at maintenance it makes sense to have a more flexible diet, but if you're trying to lose weight and get enough protein I don't see what alternative there is.
I favor you playing semantics!!!!!
PALIO JEFF 😂😂😂😂 Lost it!!
My dad has a small field that grows potatoes, onions, green beans, beans, bell peppers, tomatoes and some other veggies. It's more of a passion project, and grows enough for us to have enough vegetables when they are in the season. I usually just eat that alongside chicken and some beef. Idk if this is considered clean but I think that's a lot better than what 90% people are eating
