Yes, people started choosing to be obese because they could choose McCrap and Boxes of processed shit and gallons of sugar water instead of real food like broccoli and collard greens...
Obesity is a choice, try eating lettuce and spinach and tell me if you can get fat on that lol...

Regardless if you're susceptible to losing, or gaining, weight, there's a point where a person decides to lose or gain more weight. With this logic, in a way, obesity is absolutely a choice.
Eating cake is a choice. Therefore being fat is a choice.
I fidget like crazy, but if I eat shiz, and am still thin, I am still not going to feel good and be healthy. I went through a pretty serious depression taking care of my parents and had no time to take care of myself. I ate like crap and was still thin, I didn't move and I felt like crap. It is harder for some, but it still is about making choices when you start to understand how your body works. Environment can make it harder but it still comes down to personal responsibility. It isn't fair, but there are also plenty of people that burn even more calories than I do. It is HARD, but it is totally worth it and smart to keep trying to make good choices.
From my point of view, as someone who has gone through obesity and is now on self improvement, obesity IS a choice as long as you have enough information surrounding it. If you know how your environment affects you, how you can change it, how tu brun fat or how to ask for help or look for the information and you don't consider using that knowledge in your favour, you are consciously choosing self sabotage, if you can do more to make your progress easier but you don't, it's not that you aren't doing enough, it's just that you are doing a stupid effort to waste your mental energy.
Yes it is
Obesity is only not a choice in people suffering from an illness that don't let them train or eat properly or people who have to work way too many hours.
You can say the same thing for basically any addiction: addictions more often than not are coping mechanisms to deal with underlying issues. So when you try to tackle addiction, you'll need to face that underlying issue. Most can't do that, so they fall back into old habits and beat themselves up for it when in reality it was never their fault.
You gotta cut it off at the roots, actually question yourself and find out what's gone wrong so bad for sitting for hours playing games to seem so appealing. Once you cut out said underlying issue, actually getting rid of addictions becomes so much easier.
Maybe if the food wasn't made poorly in the west nowadays just to meet demand (GMO) and was made more organically, this would most likely aid in decreasing obesity in society.
Very solid overall breakdown of the issue at large. Pointing out the underlying mechanisms, while maintaining nuance and empathy.
I have never seen an obese ultra marathon runner just saying.
Being obese is a choice and all the points made in this were excuses I hear from my fat depressed friend who wanted to kill himself. I bullied the crap out of him until he snapped out. He hits the gym daily now
All discussions around the topic aside, I do enjoy the funny bits/references scattered through your videos. The one I caught here was this "Subject 17" reminding me Desmond from AC, right?
First video of yours I've seen, and it won't be the last - respect. I need help softening my assumptions sometimes... maybe more than sometimes. Thanks Brother : )
There are many underlying causes of obesity. There are food resources aspect. Which food types can you afford and what are their ingredients? There is endocrine problems, bad genetics, diabetes etc. There are psycological problems like coping mechanisms that results with eating excessively. We can count hundreds of things here. Sometimes obesity is a choice but generally it is not. But doing nothing about it is a choice. If you are obese please do not listen to people who celebrates it. This is a health problem that you can get rid of.
Obesity is a choise in the same way as poority
Hi as someone with PCO´s it is really very important to adress the fact that weight and body performance can really be something that a lot of women cannot just "fix".
