HomeBridge + ANY doorbell
Aqara G4 Doorbell seems to be the best one.
Eric, you really shouldn't recommend the Wemo video doorbell. I bought it after your recommendation and spent 7 hours of my life trying to connect the device without success. Apple Tech couldn't figure it out and Belkin doesn't provide support the product. On that glorious day when Apple decides to kick-off it off the HomeKit platform comes like it does frequently, a lot of owners will be stranded.
Come back mf
I have several wemo products and wemo continuously become unresponsive in apple HomeKit requiring a reboot. BUYER BEWARE.
the Logitech sucks, I had that and it moisture inside the ring bell and it does not works! and is a IP65 waterproof, Logitech bad for you
I ending up going with the Logitech a few months back and I’ve been very happy with it. I wish there was a hybrid of both though as I like the design of the Belkin better.
If your front door sees direct sunlight the LG doorbell overheats FAST! The black enamel behind the glass has delaminated because of the heat too
Thank you for this. We’ve (very) patiently been waiting for the best possible HomeKit doorbell purely for that “picture-in-picture” video feed to pop up on our Apple TV when we’re in the back of the house. I know it’s slim pickings still in 2022, but still appreciate this review 👍
netatmo, hands down. We've tried them all.
With your looks, homekit reviews and surname we should call you Homelander.
I had the same problem you had with the Wemo Doorbell. Belkin sent me a replacement, this time I used my husband's phone to set it up (after seeing your previous video). It works fine now...except on my phone. Everyone in my home can view the video and notifications, but my phone says the camera is not responding. Do you have any suggestions?
LOL the Belkin wouldn’t connect with special characters in the WiFI password??? That is indicative of terrible coding practices, who knows what other amateur hour crap they’re doing under the hood if they can’t even do that correctly…I would never buy that product.
I installed the Wemo last month and it's still going strong without any drop-outs. I was concerned about overheating since in our condo the midday sun reaches it even with an overhang. I have never had the doorbell shut off but I noticed the aforementioned midday sun -along with entryway stonework causes a false package detected message. In any case, this is more of a Homekit thing (package detection) and not the doorbell itself.
I have a WEMO doorbell and we love it!
An important point most reviewers miss is the voltage requirements. A Wemo needs a 16-24V system. Logitech can go down to a 5V system. I have not bought either, but leaning towards the Logitech. Thanks for the great video.
Hi Eric, I was unable to successfully send an email to your mailbox. I want to cooperate with you, please contact me!
Thanks for another great review. I’ve had the Logitech for almost a year. It is on my front porch, which faces mostly east and gets blasted with a hot mid Atlantic US sun. Never had it go offline other than when the power has gone out. I do wish that the Logitech had more vertical field of view, because I cannot see when packages are within 3 feet of my front door. Also, there is a substantial delay (I’ll estimate 5+ seconds) between when a person comes into view and when the doorbell notifies me on my iPhone and AppleTV 4K, resulting in me getting a notice that someone is at the door but they’ve already come and gone. The chime setup was clearly laid out in the instructions but, yeah, the adapter box had to be mounted outside of my chime box. Also, I tried not installing the chime adapter at first - bad idea as the chime box was continually drawing power.
Can we take action on any other company's device from aqara hub device, useing homkit app
