The climb back up is WAAAY worse.
I tried this back when i was a max th12 (when it was highest th lvl) and i can confirm this is about what its always like. Also the climb back up is much worse than going down.

It is really not advisable to drop your league just to get decent loot because you wil get worse than reverse,take note that one town hall away would reduce your loot let alone multiple town hall lower than yours
