It's hard to know how much of her movement was studied and how much was her normal athleticism. Her talking style in Gentlemen Prefer Blondes with the exaggerated and affected lip movements was designed to increase the comedic value of the character...of an uneducated and extremely pretentious gold-digger. Her wide-eyed, over-pronunced speech patterns and faux morality emphasised Loreli's total self-absorption and complete lack of self awareness. Natasha Lytess and Marilyn must have figured out together how the character should be played, right down to fine-tuning every mannerism. It's a work of genius! Your analysis of the orange dress with Marilyn's hair, skin and eye color is brilliant. It was definitely the golden era of Hollywood for perfecting a look.
Marilyn worked 12+ hour days, most days. That's how she was able to achieve as much as she did in such a short period of time. Plus all the visualising of herself as a movie star and practising and rehearsing as a child, which gave her a massive head start. She found all the right people to help her create the perfect Hollywood icon that she dreamt of becoming. And she was 100% commited to the goal. That's what makes her so inspirational.

Hello, thank you for this video……… I actually like some of the photos of Marilyn when she was a brunette, she was absolutely stunning… I would say Marilyn was at her most beautiful when she was in the film with Jane Russell, gentlemen prefer blondes… and then again, very beautiful, but more natural, looking in the film, some like it hot basically she was a beautiful woman …. With just a lot of insecurities down to the way she was raised poor woman all she wanted was to be loved really … .. of all the things Marilyn did to enhance herself it looked so normal and natural, she was the enhancement queen rather naturally or with some tools..actresses today over do it..they don't enhance and make it look natural they undo and redo..noone would of ever known she had anywork done, she was curvy she had hips which is what women have..other than the make up factor the girl was a master of illusion..effortlessly..

I don't know if it's true or if ANYBODY will ever know for sure Marilyn's true height? What I do know FOR SURE is that modeling agencies tend to add 1-3 inches in height to the portfolios of most if not all their models, and there's no reason to think that the Blue Book Modeling Agency would not have done the same with their models or that Marilyn wouldn't have listed herself as being 4 inches taller on her ID. I had a female friend whom I know for a fact stood barely 5'3 (compared to my 5'9 1/2 in bare feet) and her modeling portfolio shockingly listed her as being 5'6!

*You are not your height IN HEELS just because you like to pretend that to be the case. I have a feeling that Marilyn Monroe was not in any universe 5'6 in her bare feet, but considering what the Marilyn 'expert' who created this fascinating video had to say to us about everyone falsely believing Marilyn was shorter than she actually was, I doubt we will ever know the true height of Marilyn Monroe?
