Pam heads to the Philippines to star in a pair of “women in prison” movies, where she endures volatile weather, skimpy costumes, and cobra encounters. She studies acting and learns everything she can about filmmaking, and her raw talent is soon recognized on the set. But Pam’s relationship with Kareem is tested when his religious convictions clash with her feminist ideals. Great actress! I have been following Ms. Grier since the 1970's.
Kareem really loved Pam, but unfortunately he was trying to find himself and learn more about himself and his faith at the same time and had chose his faith over love. But I am extremely happy for Pam, by sticking to her guns and not choosing to be controlled.Shes too much of a free spirit to be limited.Been in love with Pam since I first saw her in Coffy when i was 10years old!! She just controlled the screen in all her roles.Thank you Ben for these podcasts.LOVING IT!!!
I'm shocked she co-wrote the script for Coffy and Jack Hill didn't try to give her a partial writing credit.
Another great podcast my first one was the one about Lucille Ball. I am loving this series with Pam Grier too. I am a big fan of her and I watch TCM often.
Pam Grier opened many doors for black 🖤 actresses like Angela bassett tarji Henson, Saana, and the late Whitney Houston (1963-2012). Great tcm podcast.
I am glad Pam is getting her flowers. I am a big Pam Grier fan
and read her autobiography. Classy and humble woman.
I like the podcast you put up Ben mankiewicz it was very good and I watch TCM a lot Thomas from Lake Wales Florida
No, thank you.
But the thing is, did Kareem love that woman he married? I hoped he regretted his decision. I'm glad Pam stood her ground and kept to who she is and not lot society dictate that a woman has to be married to be somebody.
