View full lesson: 🤍ed.ted.com/lessons/the-language-of-lying-noah-zandan We hear anywhere from 10 to 200 lies a day. And although we’ve spent much of our history coming up with ways to detect these lies by tracking physiological changes in their tellers, these methods have proved unreliable. Is there a more direct approach? Noah Zandan uses some famous examples of lying to illustrate how we might use communications science to analyze the lies themselves. Lesson by Noah Zandan, animation by The Moving Company Animation Studio.

this is not helping my trust issues, how can you lie? it just doesn't make sense to me, I rather have you hurt my feelings and be truthful than protect my feelings and lie or tell the half truth. and even if I would say this to people that I love, sometimes they still tell the half truth. I don't care when strangers lie, cuz they are strangers. but people close to me, I hate it

Video needs to be a whole lot clearer for what are symptoms of truth and symptoms of lies.
The end listed a ton of behaviors and I'm pretty sure it just mixes the two.

This is a bit dated now, as this knowledge has been absorbed into mainstream commentary. Perhaps next time get to more core information about modern lying. More on motivations, self-deceptions, more complex language habits, virtue signalling, etc.
