A great array of talent and films that deserve to be showcased. However, there is one startling omission - Jeanette MacDonald. For 20 years (1929 - 1949) she was an enormously popular singing star. Most of her MGM films were blockbusters in their time, and in 1939 she was crowned "Queen of the Screen". Not including any of her films surprises and disappoints me.

I remember seeing West Side Story for the first time, 1972?

That's how I became a Classic Film lover, watching them on TV on Saturday afternoon back in the late 70's. I lived south in the Bay Area in California & we had a station 39 and it was fantastic at showing the movie greats. The musical's we're my favorites, I'm so thankful to have had them in my life back then!!!
