Today, we are going to take a look at Ring's new Solar Panels and these are now using USB-C plugs instead of the older barrel plugs that Ring used on their first generation solar panels. These panels will also power up the new Ring spotlight cams (PRO & Plus)... but how about the older spotlight cams and 3rd Gen stickup Cams? We will also see if Ring's new spotlight cam PRO and Plus will be able to use the older barrel plug panels and also if they are compatible with Ring's wall and gutter camera and solar panel mounts. A lot of information on this video if you are planning to purchase solar panels for your Ring cameras. Wish me luck 😂 I’m setting this up today
Another nice review. Thanks
Using these on Stick up cam solar (3rd gen) and the extra 0.4A (old barrel style is 0.4A and new USB-C is 0.8A) seems to be helping in the winter days in keeping charge for cams in high traffic areas.
I’m very glad ring released the barrel to USB C adapter. Since I may get the bee cameras I was looking everywhere to where I could find the adapter.
So i have a new Annke NVR what are the best cameras in your opinion that you would buy that are non subscription. will the Ring work on the Annke NVR PoE? i found your best wired video im watching that what phone app im having issue with the Annke vision phone app most likely my settings.
Whats good about Ring is they keep updating their Products except for their Cameras.. Im surprised they didnt call this solar panel " Pro" but Nice product with double the power.. I like to see it go thru a winter on east coast.
Will you review the ring virtual security guard? It's $100 a month that's a lot for ring
Do you have to adjust the angle of the solar panels throughout the year? Also on cloudy days it seems it will run out of battery unless the battery can last several weeks on a single charge. Being that it's a battery powered cam you should do some testing how well it detects motion and the pre-roll, as well as image quality in day and night, frame rate and resolution compared to wired. In addition, the solar panels will need to be cleaned of dirt and debris. Wired cameras are install and it justs works except in a power outage I guess, but even these cameras will need a router and model with backup battery.
What's your opinion regarding this setup ( Floodlight 2 battery powered + solar panel to charge them) VS Hardwire Flood light camera . My question is if is worth adding the electrical box , i will have any benefits , like faster notifications ,recording etc.
Thank you !
Such a damn eyesore compared to what Eufy has accomplished with the Eufycam 3
Question: is there a solar panel/camera combo they allows for 24/7 recording? Even if it's not designed as such, for example a solar panel large enough to drive the Nest cam 24/7?
From saudi 👍
I hope the seal at the usb c is better at being waterproof.
Maybe I can use this on my Eufy L20 ….since Eufy doesn’t make a solar charger with a USB-C. However, not sure if the L20 software allows solar charging yet…..need to try and see. Also, great video as always.
I hit this vid so fast I caught it between upload and you making it public! 😂
Any way to tell voltage of panel to make sure the angle is ideal?
