How to replace the battery in a Yale Assure Lock SL. Use a phillips screw driver #1 to remove the battery cover at the top top of the Yale lock. Use a small screwdriver to pry the battery out from the opposite end of the spring (positive end of the battery). The lock uses 4 alkaline AA batteries that you will insert the negative end of the battery next to the spring. Once you have all batteries in the lock the lock should announce welcome to Yale Assure living. If you don’t hear that you will want to make sure the batteries polarity is correct for AA Battery. If the polarity is correct use a battery tester to make sure your batteries are good. Replace the cover and tighten the screw. You are finished your Yale Assure SL smart Lock will work like normal.
