Japanese dishes vary depending on the region, but common throughout the country are open-air markets serving street snacks like taiyaki — fish-shaped treats filled with red-bean paste — fluffy soufflé pancakes, and tako tamago — grilled octopus stuffed with a quail egg. We traveled south from Tokyo to the Okinawa Islands to explore these dishes and where to eat them. Today's video is PACKED with food! This American husband and wife hit the streets of Tokyo, Japan to find crazy street food to eat! We start our rainy day in a massive line at Sushi no Midori Ginza to try some of not only the best sushi in Japan, but the best VALUE sushi in Japan! Thankfully the rain scared people off and we were able to get inside and try the most delicious sushi of our lives! Afterwards we headed into Shibuya on Takeshita Street to try some cheesy Korean corn dogs and the 10 yen cheese coin...unbelievable! We passed through Memory Lane, headed into Shinjuku and found Godzilla hanging over a massive wall! We finished off our epic food tour at Tomokunchi for some famous Okonomiyaki and it did not disappoint! We can't get over how delicious Japanese food is! Japanese Food is awesome, and the overall dining experience is just as fun. If you are looking for places to eat in Tokyo, here are five great Japanese food experiences that I love while living in Tokyo. 1. Japanese Grill (Robata) - You sit around a few men who cook all of the meat and vegetables right in front of you on a grill. You just point to what you want and they grab it with their giant wooden spatulas. 2. Ramen - My favorite Japanese food, and perhaps the most well recognized Japanese dish apart from sushi. There are hundreds of places to choose from in Tokyo, each with their own rendition of the classic. One spot where you can get a large variety of options is on "Ramen Street" in the lower level of Tokyo Station. 3. Yakitori - Meat and veggies on sticks, cooked over a similar grill as the Robata, Yakitori is a favorite among Tokyo residents because it's fast and goes great with beer. The most famous area for Yakitori in Tokyo is down "Memory Lane" or "Piss Alley" just outside the Shinjuku Train Station. 4. Chanko Nabe - The ultimate in gluttony for a normal civilian, but a necessary bulking strategy for up-and-coming sumo wresters in the Ryogoku neighborhood of Tokyo. There are many different versions of this massive stew, and they are all aggressive and delicious. 5. Conveyor Belt Sushi - As I mention in the video, there are a million different ways sushi is served in Tokyo. One of the most fun methods is by way of the conveyor belt sushi. *Bonus* - Convenient stores such as FamilyMart, Lawson's, and 7 Eleven are a major part of Japanese Food culture in Tokyo. People are busy and need a quick meal, so I wanted to take you around real quick and show you what's inside! - SUBSCRIBE ► 🤍 - FOLLOW ME: + INSTAGRAM ►🤍 + FACEBOOK ► 🤍 + TWITTER ► 🤍 + SNAPCHAT ►🤍GarethChat + WEB ► 🤍 - MY TRAVEL VLOGGING GEAR: - MacBook Pro 15” → 🤍 - LaCie Rugged External Hard Drive → 🤍 - Sony a7ii → 🤍 - Sony a7ii 24-70 Lens → 🤍 - DJI Phantom 4 Drone → 🤍 - GoPro Hero 4 → 🤍 - KNEKT Underwater Dome → 🤍 - Rode Shotgun Mic → 🤍 - Manfrotto 60” Compact Action Tripod → 🤍 - Joby Tripod → 🤍 - Zoom H2n Handy Recorder → 🤍 - Backup Batteries for Sony A7ii → 🤍 - Backup Batteries for Sony RX100iv → 🤍 - P.S. According to TasteAtlas, you voted this as the best dish of 2022. Let’s make Karē (Katsu version) and see if it lives up to it’s achievement. FOLLOW ME: Instagram: 🤍 TikTok: 🤍 Facebook: 🤍 Snapchat: 🤍andy.cooks Website with all my recipes: It’s coming! Recipe Ingredients for 4 portions - 2 tbsp grapeseed oil - 1 brown onion, diced large - 2 carrots, peeled and diced - 2 potatoes, diced - 1 green apple, diced - 600ml chicken stock - 1 packet S&B Golden Curry - 2 chicken breasts, sliced in half - 200g flour - 2 eggs, beaten - 200g panko bread crumbs - Oil for frying - 3 spring onions, sliced thin - Salt to taste - Steamed rice to serve Method 1. Start by cooking some rice in a rice cooker to serve the curry. 2. Heat the grapeseed oil in a large frypan and sweat off the onions and carrots with a pinch of salt. 3. Once they start to soften, add the chicken stock. 4. Now add the potatoes and simmer for 15 minutes or until the veg is just starting to soften. 5. While that is cooking, heat the oil in a cast iron pan for frying the chicken katsu. 6. To crumb the chicken, season it with salt and then dust it with flour followed by a dunk in the egg and finally the panko crumbs. 7. Back to the curry, after the potatoes and carrots have been cooking for 15 minutes add the apples. 8. Once the stock comes back to a boil, add the Golden Curry and stir through. 9. Cook the chicken katsu in the oil at 170°c until golden brown on both sides, about 7-9 minutes. 10. Once cooked, let it drain on a wire rack and season it with salt. 11. To serve, add the rice in a bowl and the curry next to it, finally slice the chicken katsu and serve on top. 12. Garnish with spring onions. 13. Enjoy!

Shrimp is the most popular tempura. Squid and other seafood are also delicious. Any ingredient can be used for tempura, so try it with ingredients you have in the fridge right now. Cooking oil For the Tempura batter: An egg 200ml cold water 140g flour For the Dipping Sauce: 2tbs soy sauce 2tbs sugar ½ tsp dashi powder (I recommend Japanese broth like bonito or kelp but you can use any) 120ml water Instractions Cut the all vegetables and prepare the shrimp. Wipe off the water well and put them in the fridge till you use them. Make dipping sauce. Combine all ingredients of dipping sauce and heat it once. Make the batter. Crack an egg, add 200ml cold water, add 140g shifted flour. Avoid over mixing the batter because too much flour gluten will be released and it will not fry crispy. Coat vegetables and shrimp and deep fry at 180°C for 1-2 minutes. Slowly deep fry root vegetables until cooked through. Tempura is a surprisingly easy and quick dish! Give it a try❤️

Hey guys, I'm Ryosuke! I’m a Japanese guy who’s crazy about food! I used to be a professional boxer, so I know how important it is to eat healthy dishes that give you lots of energy! Today I want to show you my recipe for CHICKEN TERIYAKI! It’s so simple and delicious, anyone can make it at home! I hope you enjoy and tell me what recipes you want to see in the comments! Special thanks to my friend Nicholas Pettas who helped me film my boxing scene - you can check out our video together here: 🤍 Ingredients: - 1 Large Chicken Thigh (skin on) - Potato Starch - ½ Green Onion - 1tbsp of Cooking Sake - 2 tsp of brown sugar - 1 & ½ tbsp of water - 1 & ½ tbsp of soy sauce - 2 tsp of honey How to make: - Cut off any fatty parts of one large chicken thigh (skin on) - Cover the chicken thigh in potato (or corn) starch on both sides and sprinkle with salt and pepper - Make your sauce by mixing your cooking sake, brown sugar, water, soy sauce and honey and mixing them - Heat some olive oil in a frying pan on a medium heat and put the chicken in skin side down - Add your green onions and cook the chicken until the skin is golden brown and crispy (be careful not to burn the onions!) - Turn the chicken over, set aside the green onions and continue to cook the chicken on a low heat with the lid on - for about 3 minutes - Take the chicken out of the pan - wipe away the excess fat and then put them back in with the sauce - Let that simmer with the lid on for about 5 minutes - Cover the chicken in sauce and you’re done!
Japanese food in Tokyo for breakfast, lunch, and dinner! Subscribe for more videos► 🤍 T-shirts for sale here► 🤍 One of the best things to do when you travel is eat delicious local food. So one of the ideas I like to do when I visit any destination is eat a typical breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Japanese food is amazing, and in Tokyo you have so many options of what to eat, so on this Japanese food tour, I decided to eat a mix of typical and authentic Japanese food. Breakfast at Shokudo diner 東新宿食堂 Japanese breakfast can be very regional in Japan, but a good typical Japanese breakfast is a bowl of rice, miso soup, and often a piece of grilled fish like a mackerel. Just down the road from where I was staying in Tokyo, we went to the local diner for some Japanese breakfast. Price - 1,690 JPY ($15.29) for everything on my tray Lunch at Sanshuya 三州屋 This is one of the best local Japanese restaurants I’ve ever been to in Tokyo. Thank you to Yuko for this recommendation. It’s a small hole-in-the-wall restaurant that serves incredibly fresh fish and daily specials. Amazing little restaurant in Ginza, for best Japanese food. Total price - 3,300 JPY ($29.87) for 2 Dinner at Shibuya Morimoto Yakitori There are so many different Japanese food you can choose to eat for dinner, but one of the common businessman meals is an afterwork stop at an izakaya (a Japanese pub). One type of izakaya is a yakitori restaurant, serving grilled chicken. I went to a restaurant called Shibuya Morimoto, a wonderful chicken heaven and ordered the omakase set. The chicken sashimi was actually incredible! Total price - 9,001 JPY ($81.45) for 2 So that wraps up this authentic Japanese food tour of breakfast, lunch, and dinner in Tokyo. Would you believe it if I said this ramen is NOT real? How about this beer and yakitori?Well, all of the food you see is made out of wax, and this is extremely common for restaurants to have for display in Japan. It’s called sampuru which comes from the English word sample. Do you think all restaurants should use sampuru?
