Raw sauerkraut is really lacto fermented cabbage. It's loaded with literally trillions of probiotics! In this video I share with you 2 lacto fermented sauerkraut recipes that are beginner friendly. Fermenting vegetables for beginners is easy ... This video on lacto fermented cabbage is very easy for the fermenting newbie with step by step instructions. FAQs: Q1. Can I store this without a refrigerator? Q2. How do I store this long term? A1&2. For long term storage, the sauerkraut must be stored below 50 degrees (10 C). In older times this was done in a root cellar. If you have one, great! If you don't have a root cellar, keep it in the refrigerator. It will last many months to even over a year. Temperature makes all the difference with how long sauerkraut will last. If the sauerkraut stays fully submerged beneath the brine, it could last up to 6 to 8 weeks on the counter in a 70 to 75 degree (21-24 C) environment, however less time if warmer... and maybe around 8 to 12 weeks if the environmental temperature is around 60 degrees (16-17 C). The sauerkraut won't make it longer than 4 to 6 if the room temperature is between 50 to 60 (10-17 C) degrees. Overall, unless you have a storage room of 50 degrees (10 C) or cooler, a refrigerator is best for maximum extended storage. See my Fermentation Funk Video #4 where I give an example of what can happen if you ferment sauerkraut around 63 degrees (17 C) for 4 to 6 months. 🤍 Q3. Do I need to wash the cabbage? A3. You do not have to wash the cabbage with produce wash because the outer leaves are being removed and will not be a part of the sauerkraut mixture. Produce wash also kills and washes away the needed bacteria for a successful fermentation. See more below... If the the leaves have dirt on them, go ahead and rinse the cabbage with plain water. If there's no dirt, no need to rinse. ▪︎The needed bacteria for a successful fermentation are on the leaves. Produce wash will remove them. Definitely do not wash all the cabbage with produce wash. ▪︎ If the outer leaves have scabbing, or areas where bugs munched, remove the scabbed leaves and/or cut off any imperfections. ▪︎If you are concerned about pesticides, removing the outer leaves will remove the leaves that took the brunt of the spray. Commercial cabbage will still successfully ferment even though it's chemically sprayed. So she brought it to the table and I got to be the lucky taste tester :) Here are the recipes for you! Cilantro Garlic Lime Shrimp Ingredients: 1 lb large raw shrimp peeled & deveined, tails on(rinsed & pat dry) 2 Tbsp olive or melted coconut oil 1 bunch coarse chopped cilantro leaves The Juice of 2 limes 4 cloves minced garlic 1 tsp sea salt Directions: Preheat oven to 375 degrees. In a large bowl combine all ingredients. Then lay on a flat baking sheet pan. Bake 10-11 minutes in your preheated 375-degree oven until shrimp are fully cooked. Baked Chili Coconut Shrimp Ingredients: 20 large Shrimp, peeled & deveined 1 cup unsweetened coconut flakes 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper 1/4 tsp chili powder 2 large egg whites, beaten Directions: Preheat over to 425 degrees. Line a baking sheet with foil or parchment. Spray with olive oil or coconut oil cooking spray. Rinse shrimp & pat dry. Combine coconut & seasonings, well in medium bowl. Place beaten egg whites in a separate bowl. Dredge shrimp into egg whites, then into the coconut mixture, pressing lightly. Place Shrimp on baking sheet & spray the tops lightly with your coconut oil or olive oil cooking spray. Bake in preheated 425-degree oven for about 10 minutes until shrimp are firm & coconut begins to brown. Serve with fresh limes. Originally use fish sauce, soy sauce, oyster sauce and sugar to add flavour but in this video is clean recipe, so we didn't use any of that also no cooking oil except one teaspoon of soy sauce. Trying new cuisines // Clean Food Clean Mind // Korean Temple Food | Healthy and Easy Recipes | Wellness Month | Sanne Vloet Hi Guys, How is everyone doing? This week so have so many videos coming out which I am so excited about! For this one I changed the style of filming and editing a little bit. What do you guys think of this? Do we like the face to face cooking or this peaceful style better? About 2 weeks ago, my friend Jessie gave me a Korean cookbook from her chef friend Shin. In that same week I found an amazing Japanese supermarket around the corner from my place where I started to do more groceries. After I watched the episode from a Buddhist monk named Jeong Kwang in Chefs Table I felt so inspired to try Korean Temple Food for myself! We have all our own unique relationship with food. Sometimes good and maybe sometimes bad. But I feel what all brings us together is that we care about what we put into our body and how it makes us feel! I found the way the monks approach their ingredients, the food, and the cooking so fascinating and inspiring. Their belief that clean food will give you a clean body which turns into a clean mind seemed so simple and beautiful. I feel this comes all back to our wellness month and shows us how mindfulness and healthy eating habits go together. I definitely wanna learn more about different cuisines around the world so please comment down below as well your favorite dish from your town or country! Much Love, Sanne Braised Shiitake Mushroom with Rice Molasses by Jeong Kwan Ingredients: 10 Shiitake Mushrooms 2 TBSP Soy Sauce (gluten free) 1 cup Water 1 TBSP Perilla Seed Oil 2 TBSP Rice Molasses (substitute with honey or maple syrup) 1 TBSP Sesame Seed Oil Cooking: Remove the stems from the mushrooms and rinse quickly with running water. Steam mushrooms lightly in a steamer. In a pan, add soy sauce, water and perilla seed oil. Bring to a boil. Add steamed mushrooms. Reduce the liquid in half. Baste the mushroom with liquid. Add rice molasses, continuously baste the mushrooms until they began to have a shine. Off heat, add sesame seed oil and toss well. Lee Lost 14 Pounds of Fat With Clean Food Crush! 🤍 I started the 30-Day Challenge with intention. Other meal plans I tried out; I would modify somehow so I wasn’t following them 100% completely. This one I dedicated 100% focus. OK, maybe I gave it 98%. Having the first week laid out for me taught me to eat more often, eat more vegetables, to properly portion my food and eat more lean meats. My favorite recipes are the Meatballs in Pomegranate Sauce. The spicy and sweet flavors are a perfect combination and all the pancakes. Yes, all of them. I can still enjoy pancakes and not feel weighed down. After two weeks, I noticed pants that didn’t fit 3 months before fit comfortably. Tee shirts were getting looser. People at the gym started telling me that I was looking leaner. This motivated me. This encouraged me and kept the fire burning in me to be consistent.
