In this video, I will be going through the campfire grills, grates and fire anchors that I use when camping and cooking over an open fire. Although not essential for campfire cooking, a grill does make life easier when cooking meat, fish and vegetables over the fire and for supporting cooking pots and pans. They provided a stable platform on which to cook and they can be adjusted to take advantage of heat control while you are cooking. I have a few grills that I show in this video, although there are many to choose from when looking for one to buy, some good, some less so. Hopefully this video might help to give you some pointers and tips for when choosing a grill for your adventures into the outdoors. I hope you enjoy the video, Thanks for watching. Hello wolf pack. I bring to you another delicious, decadent, dangerously soothing campfire cooking video! I love venturing out into the middle of the woods with my backpack and creating a mouth watering meal among the elements of nature. I hope you enjoy listening to the calming sounds, take in the beauitful atmosphere and have your mouth water a bit at the yummy meal I made. This was my first time making a whole leg of lamb, over a fire, things were cooking VERY slowly so I decided to use the caveman method again and put the meat directly on the coals. Who needs a grill anyway?? It definitely got it nice and crispy and added some amazing flavor! Hit that like button if you guys want more of these asmr style cooking videos & leave me a comment down below what I should try to cook next! Thanks for watching :) #nature #lamb #campfire

In this video, Maggie and I head out to the woods to do a spot of campfire cooking. After collecting firewood and lighting a fire to get a good bed of embers, I make a simple bread dough. Hi everyone, Sounds of Camping Epidode 4 is here and we hope you like it! In this episode we travelled only 1hour and 20 min from our home to a place close to Lake Wivenhoe in Queensland / Australia. The camping spot was right on a hilltop with some crazy panoramic views. It was dog friendly so we could bring Ted with us :) We were quite exposed to elements. It was very windy on the first day, so tarp setup was quite a challenge. But we managed to set it up wind resistant and did not have to worry about it for the rest of the stay :) In this video we cooked Prawn with Garlic / Butter / Cheese on top plus Barramundi Fish Fillets. For breakfast we had butter fried olive sourdough with Egg / Paprika / Red Onion mix. Topped with Balsamic Glaze. For dinner we had stew provided to us by the friendly hosts. It was a mix of veggies and meat. About the campsite: Belbrooke Farm, Hilltop Campsite Booked via: 🤍 Review: The host was great. We had a small introduction chat at the start with couple of rules. As we went to the campsite we noticed it was quite windy. You are exposed to elements, so it is recommended to have the right camping gear for it. It's quite windy, but only couple of hours in the day. There was no wind at all in the evenings and mornings. Not many trees around, so it is important to bring enough camping gear for shade. The views were stunning and a treat to look at during the whole stay. We definetly would recommend camping there. Have you ever tried damper, cooked the traditional way on a smoldering campfire? This homemade bread was first made by European settlers and is still a popular food in the bush today. Subscribe 🔔 🤍 Former drover Tac Towns was at the Jack Johnson Memorial Gala Day in Scone, NSW, to teach people how to prepare this belly-filling Aussie classic. Simply add three cups of self-raising flour into a bowl and add a cup of powdered milk, a pinch of salt and mix it through. (Tac uses a knife, but a spoon probably works best!) Then add two cups of water and mix that through until it becomes a thick dough. Now place the damper mixture on a flour-covered board and sprinkle a bit more flour on top. Pat it into shape using a spatula (or any other similar kitchen utensil you’ve got to hand). Place the damper into a pot pre-heated on the campfire, pop the lid on and place some coals on top. (Make sure you don’t burn yourself!) After 40 minutes or so you should have a perfectly cooked damper. You can vary the recipe by adding other ingredients such as sultanas and sugar – which Tac comically refers to as ‘spotted dog’. Serve warm with some butter and Cocky’s Joy (golden syrup). I make a Metal Firepit to do Campfire and Dutch oven cooking with a swinging pot hanger - repurpose Scrap Metal Project. I repurpose old rusty scrap metal, to make an outdoor cook station with a swinging pot hanger and my rebar crossbar with hooks and 4 loose butcher hooks also. We love open-fire cooking and dutch oven cooking when we are camping, and now with this metal firepit cooking setup, we can do it all at home also, without the need to travel. This was an enjoyable metalworking project for me, and even better is this project will be staying home with us, and I think will get quite a bit of use. It is made from old rusty loading ramps for loading bobcat loaders onto a truck, and the metal is quite thick, it was to be scrap metal, but I saw the potential of a good project and now I have a metal fire pit. It is quite heavy, it is 78 kg (171 pounds). I have a nice spot for this to sit and I don't think it will get moved much. The main tools used, were a MIG welder, angle grinder, drill, and bench vise. Hope you found something of use in my video or at least found it entertaining. Product Links. In this video, I cook up a very basic Roast Chicken, in a Dutch Oven cast iron cooking pot. The recipe is simple.....chicken, vegetables and some seasoning. Spraying the chicken with oil before adding the seasoning helps the seasoning to stick and also helps give get the skin nice and crispy. The seasoning I used was a combination of mixed herbs & hot paprika. The most important factor to understand when cooking chicken in a dutch oven is to understand how to control the heat. The same thing goes for cooking bread in a dutch oven! It's all about being gentle with the heat and not having an overly large fire burning away on top of the dutch oven. During a snowy, windy, and cold January weekend I spend the night in the wilderness of Alberta, Canada. I locate my camp in an area that is thick with willow shrubs and evergreen trees to help block the wind. Setting up an open tarp-shelter allows me to keep a fire going all night which aids in keeping me warm. I cook up a garlic butter shrimp fried rice dish for supper, then finish with a mini apple cobbler dessert. I sleep peacefully next to my fire, and under two wool blankets stay pleasantly warm. In the morning I cook a bacon and egg baked potato for breakfast before packing up my camp and returning home. Thanks to all who watch, I appreciate your support. This solo camp cooking trip takes me into the Australian bush of the Vic High Country. For my solo camp cooking trip, i have cooked all of my meals over the coals of the campfire. I setup camp beside a beautiful Vic High Country mountain stream. I enjoy Solo camping it's a great experience, its just you, the birds and your environment as your entertainment. Being out in the Australian bush on your own and cooking the meals that you take to be cooked on the campfire is a great way of getting back to basics and a very simple life. Solo camping needs to be experienced to really understand whats it's like. After you have been on one enjoyable solo camp cooking trip, you might find yourself wanting more of this simple way of life.

So, what campfire cooking equipment set do i use in my camp kitchen? This is my camp kitchen set up that i have been cooking on the campfire for many years. The campfire cooking equipment in my camp kitchen, is pretty simple gear. I show you my best 7 items that i use for cooking on the campfire. Campfire cooking is a big part about camping in the bush and having the right equipment can make things easy for cooking up the meals that you enjoy. The campfire equipment that i use allows me to cook the same meals that i would at home, while out in the bush. You can cook what ever you like on the campfire, it's only your imagination that will potentially hold you back. I really enjoy cooking with my cast iron fry pan and cast iron camp oven. I find cooking with cast iron is so easy to use on the campfire, and there's nothing that you cant cook in both of those pieces of cast iron campfire cooking equipment. My old toasted sandwich maker is over 20 years old, it's totally endless as to what you can cook on the campfire with one of those. Billy's how good are they. Very old school but they still work the same as any of my saucepans from my kitchen at home. While out in the bush camping, i can cook the same meals that i do in my kitchen at home. But i would much rather be using my camp kitchen set up any day. What would be your favourite piece of campfire cooking equipment that you use while out camping in the bush?
