Tell me after those 10min haha! / Werbung My gosh, we filmed this routine 3x because of several camera errors. My body was shaaaakingggggg. ▸ for lower abs, upper abs & side abs ▸ advanced level ▸ 100% suitable for men 1. make sure to keep your LOWER BACK flat on the mat. Only lower your legs as far as possible, so your lower back is not lifting off the mat. 2. lay your head on the mat, if that's more comfy. Make sure to still tilt your pelvis & activate your lower abs if you rest your head. 3. THINK ABOUT YOUR ABS. It's about the mind muscle connection! Lift your legs with the strength of your abs, not your thighs. This was recorded in Sweden last week :) unfortunately you can’t see anything of the landscape because all of those takes had errors :( But on a positive note: The lighting in this Swedish gym made my abs pop haha!!! This 10 min abs workout is a perfect finisher to any workout or great for active rest days along side cardio! Please remember... ab specific workouts will not reduce fat from the tummy area. Ab and core workouts strengthen the entire core and allow for improved definition depending on body fat levels and where fat is stored. I know you have all heard abs are made in the kitchen...rather they are revealed relating to your body fat percentage and this can be different for everyone. In regards ‘the kitchen’ this relates to your calorie intake versus calories burned. To lose body fat, you must be burn more than you intake; this can be done through your nutritional intake and/or increasing cardio! It is better to reduce calories very slightly so you have energy to continue to train... and cardio will increase your energy expenditure so I would definitely recommend considering how to implement for cardio into your day/week. It could be a walk daily, a run twice per week, cardio workout at home that is steady state (as apposed to stopping and starting), rather keeping that heart rate steady increased pace if you are aiming to reduce body fat. Paired with strength training to burn calories (heart rate is elevated during points and muscle increases your metabolism!) and HIIT (much higher spikes in heart rate). Keep up the super training everyone!! All you will need for this ab workout is your mat! train that stubborn lower part of your belly ♥︎ / Werbung One of the most requested videos ever! I never wanted to do it because most people advertise their videos like "LOSE LOWER BELLY FAT". But we (hopefully) all know: you won't burn only fat in this specific place by training it. STILL: having strong lower abs is very beneficial. It keeps your core tight, prevents back pain, makes your belly look flatter because you can "hold it in" better and: if you lose that fat, you will also see your Ab Lines! Please, please, please make sure: ▸ to keep your LOWER BACK FLAT ON THE MAT. This is essential for your health & essential for training your lower abs. If you don't keep it flat on the mat, you will not train your lower abs. Only move your legs downwards as far as possible (for example during a leg lift). If that means you only have a small range of motion: FINE. You will improve over time. ▸ you can lay your head on the mat, if that's more comfortable. This makes it ever harder for the lower abs! I tend to lift my head after some minutes, because I otherwise feel my lower back lifting off the mat. ▸ it's about the mind muscle connection! want to get the famous "11 line" abs? good, let's train our entire core ♥︎ / Werbung We (hopefully) all know: you will not magically get ab lines & lose all your belly fat by doing 5 crunches. I wish it was that easy haha. But let's make sure our lines are readyyyy below the "soft pillows". Being well prepared is always beneficial, we are ready for the moment we get to see those muscles. To see, ab lines you need to: ▸ have strong ab muscles. Especially obliques (the sides), but also upper, lower and middle abs. It's basically only possible with a combination out of all areas. Think about runway models: they are often super duper skinny but don't have visible abs. So yes, we all have abs - but IT IS a matter of training them & making them pop out. ▸ have low body fat storages at your core. Everybody stores weight at different areas, so some people don't even need to have a super low body fat percentage to see those lines! If you naturally store more fat around your stomach though, you will need to be more shredded. ▸ sleep well & don't stress so much: why? Stress increases the hormone cortisol, which supports fat storages around your belly. To develop a truly impressive Sixpack, you will want to train from abs a whole range of perspectives. You see, the core is generally made up of four key components. Namely - the rectus abdominus (6pack / lower abs), obliques, the serratus anterior, and the transverse abdominus (inner abs). 👉Coaching Programs: 🤍 The obliques are an absolute must when it comes to developing an aesthetic physique. If your goal is to attain the V tapered look, there’s no way around training them. The obliques are a multifunctional muscle, they act to pull the chest downwards and compress the abdominal cavity, as well as performing side bending and opposing side rotation. Overall, you can’t skimp on your obliques for aesthetic and performance, and the best way to ensure that you stay on track is to keep your workouts fresh & challenging The serratus is a muscle that originates on your upper rib cage and attaches to the media border of the shoulder blade (basically the shark gill looking things). The serratus muscles play a pivotal role in framing out your abs, obliques and lower pec. Not too mention, it absolutely serves as an asset to the v taper, in turn giving you a better looking set of abs! If you have been looking for a 10 min ab workout that you can follow along with and get 6 pack abs without needing equipment, then this is the routine for you. With just 8 ab exercises and some room on the floor of your living room you can start to sculpt six pack abs with this one easy to follow ab workout. As always with ATHLEAN-X ab workouts, I’m following the science of ab training and progressing the ab exercises in a specific sequence. Generally, since lower abs exercises are most difficult to perform (due to the added weight of the legs that you need to lift) we want to put them at the beginning of the workout. Next, movements that move both the legs and the shoulders off the floor are best placed in the middle of the ab workouts. Finally, when most fatigued, the oblique exercises and those that work the upper abs are best placed at the end of the workout. Here you will find exactly that. Let’s take a look at the ab workout and what ab exercises you’ll be doing in the next 10 minutes. Remember, if you cannot last for the entire 45 seconds you may perform the exercise for as long as you can. Your rest time will simply increase between exercises. If you can, attempt to complete all of the movements in this 6 pack abs workout for the entire prescribed time and keep your rest times to that of the video demonstration. Too often, people will engage their hip flexors rather than their abdominal muscles in an attempt to complete a rep of an exercise. This winds up just tiring our the psoas and not the rectus abdominis, which is not the goal of an effective ab workout routine. When training the obliques, be careful not to pull on your head and neck too much. The key here is to lightly place your hand on your head and lift with the strength of the oblique muscles. Crunch your elbow to your knee and feel every contraction as you do. The last exercise, the corpse crunch, is designed to work the upper abs most. Here you want to focus on getting full clearance of your shoulder blades off the floor. At the top of every rep, squeeze your abs for a brief count of 1-2 seconds and lower back down slowly. You will really feel your abs burn if you do this properly, especially at this point in the ab workout. Beginners may perform this workout for abs for as long as they can do each exercise. Even if the first few times through you can only do 10 to 15 seconds of each movement, that's ok. Keep trying to increase the length of time that you can do the exercises and increase your ab strength each time. If you are more of a intermediate or novice level, see if you can get through all 10 minutes of this ab workout for 6 pack abs without failing. The rest times are about 15 seconds long. If you need any additional time to rest, you may simply press pause and resume once your muscles have had a chance to briefly recover and you feel you are ready to move on. The key to any ab workout producing a ripped 6 pack is to make sure you are also following a smart nutrition plan. Too often, people will consistently perform the workout for abs that they saw on youtube but not pay attention to what they are putting in their mouth.
