My new album 'Copenhagen Girl' is out now! Listen here: 🤍 (3/3) My name is Ewan Cunningham, I'm 18 years old and I'm a self taught musician. I started playing drums at the age of 4 and now I'm branching out into other instruments such as guitar, bass, keyboards and vocals. I've been teaching myself to mix, record and film music since I was 10 years old and this is my passion. Well here it is... The final one of my Dobbie Hall videos and my full length cover of Echoes. I chose to cover Echoes because I knew it would be a challenge. Not just a challenge to learn every instrumental part to this 25 minute masterpiece but to also make it sound right and true to the vibe and feel of the Live at Pompeii version. ► My awesome Pink Floyd butterfly t-shirt is from RedBubble: 🤍 ◄ Using this link helps me out by giving me a commission without costing you extra! The very first thing I did when recording this was learn the piano sequence at the very beginning. I don't have a grand piano or a Hammond organ so to get the right keyboard sound was gonna take a lot of tweaking with effects. I used my cheap Yamaha keyboard for all of the keyboard parts (of which there are a lot) and I am very happy with the sound I managed to pull from such a limited instrument. Once I had gotten most of the piano and organ tracks done I started working on the guitar part. I had never practiced the slide/violin effect that David does at the beginning so I had to learn how to do that. A lot of gain and delay is required to make it sound smooth and spacey. The guitar solo and funk section were really fun to learn and have since been stuck in my head for months. Another challenge for me was getting the vocals right. Although I've posted quite a few videos now of me singing, all of them were recorded after I had recorded this cover. So this was really my first proper attempt at singing. The next thing I had to learn was the bass. The most eagle-eyed amongst you will see that I'm playing a left handed bass upside down. This is my Dad's bass guitar and it's the only one we have. It's also the only bass guitar I've ever played so I'm used to playing it upside down. The bass track on this song is really fun to play, especially the funk section. The final part I recorded was the drum part and because I had listened to this song so much I didn't need more than 1 take. I bashed the two parts out in one go. After everything was recorded I began mixing what would be the most challenge mix I've ever done. This song is incredibly long and there is so much going on all the time. There are really soft and quiet bits and then there are loud and heavily distorted guitar parts. Balancing everything and making each instrument sound clear but fit in with the song was a fun challenge. Hopefully my cover successfully recreates the sounds and feelings of the original. If you do enjoy my cover I would appreciate it if you share it with other people that might enjoy it as well! Check out this great article on this cover written b Kevin Holmes from Smash.com: 🤍 This video was shot in 4K with a GoPro Hero 4 Black Edition and Panasonic Lumix G7. The sound was recorded and mixed in Cubase and the video was edited in Adobe Premiere. All of the videography was done by me. The extra cinematic shots were taken by me when on holiday in Rome, Prague and London. EMAIL: ewancee13🤍gmail.com MY ORIGINAL MUSIC: 🤍 INSTAGRAM: 🤍

Buy Rodrigo y Gabriela on CD & Vinyl here: 🤍 This piece, Echoes, has a profound spiritual message that tells us to reconnect with a part of ourselves—that part that is the most pure, the most humane piece of ourselves. When we do this, we can truly connect with all living beings on a very elemental level. It’s a practice that we can all do anytime, without the use of any device :-) 😊 The simple act of just being, just existing as we listen to it it is a deeply hippie dippy message and it means a lot to us and we hope it does to you too! Please enjoy!

IMPORTANT NOTICE: A couple of mistakes (one that is even really bad) but it's the most genuine shot I can do being ill. This was recorded at the lowest of my health condition, I have been ill for around two years and activities like playing guitar would be one of the few things I was sometimes, still able to do. Echoes Live at Pompeii from Pink Floyd is my most favorite song to cover. This is the first time I do it complete, full from start to finish. Playing Pink Floyd - Echoes in Zurich, February 19 2011. This was somewhere in the middle of the concert, I guess. Had all the "emergency" scores on the piano, hilarious. Luckily, didn't need the missing note for playing Pink Floyd, it was a nice experience to perform it on a real piano. Original piano arrangement written by me. Sorry for not to being shirtless! I hope someday to cover the whole Track! A note about the tab: At 00:29 I tabbed 11 to 18 fret witch is correct but I played 11 to 20 fret, does not compromise anything. We tried to keep the spirit of "Pink Floyd: live at Pompeii", but at the same time doing something different, with different songs that fit the place. Same concept as the other performance we made at this place two years ago, but instead of just one song, a whole concert to a selected and reduced audience. All played live with no pauses. The recording of the orchestra couldn't be used in this video (the wind blew their written scores) so for the orchestra we had to use the audio of the 2014 performance. Something different! I present to you a cover of the song "Echoes" by Pink Floyd, here arranged and performed by the artist Bee Nee Yoo! I didn't create anything in this. Brit Floyd performing "Echoes" from Pink Floyd album "Meddle", live at the Echo Arena, Liverpool, England, 22nd of January, 2011.
Song: Echoes Artist: Pink Floyd Album: Meddle (1971) Original Bass Player: Roger Waters Bass: Steinberger XP-2 Strings: D'Addario ESXL170 Nickel Wound Double Ball-End .45 .65 .80 .100 Sound: Digitech BP-8 Valve Preamp/Processer (Compressor, Preamp, Equalizer) Bass Signal: Rapco Horizon Company DB-1 High to Low Impedance Converter Mixer: Phonic AM240 Camera: Canon FS200 Standard Tuning "Echoes" is a composition by Pink Floyd including lengthy instrumental passages, sound effects, and musical improvisation. Written in 1970 by all four members of the group (credited as Roger Waters, Richard Wright, Nick Mason, David Gilmour on the original release), "Echoes" provides the extended finale to Pink Floyd's album Meddle. Meaning In an interview with Rolling Stone, Waters explained that the song's lyrics were an attempt to describe "the potential that human beings have for recognizing each other's humanity and responding to it, with empathy rather than antipathy." He has also stated in many interviews that this song is the ideological predecessor to The Dark Side of the Moon, for in "Echoes" he began to focus the music of Pink Floyd on people and the issues facing humanity rather than fantastical space trips and psychedelic imagery All audio and video segments remain the property of the original artists and publishing companies. This is me and my little brother Lucien, a group of chum. We recorded this song last year in 2012 because it's a song we particularly have liked since our childness. One day I asked him if he was ready to try this song with me, he said yes. This video is a souvenir of this afternoon of work. Enjoy !
In the last few weeks, I have been working on something very special to me… I try learn by ear the entire “Live at Pompeii” release in 1972 by Pink Floyd. This iconic concert/documentary/film was mainly recorded live with no audience on the oldest surviving roman amphitheatre. Surrounded by a unique atmosphere, the setlist, the execution, the scenes and everything else are just incredible. So, the next seven videos that I will post here will present the "Live at Pompeii" in its entirety - starting with the magnanimous first part of "Echoes". Echoes was originally released as the last song from “Meddle” (1971) by Pink Floyd. I hope you like my approach to the song! Keep the good music alive! Note: this piece is not at A 440 Hz. I tried to tune my bass by ear, but for that reason the pitch may be a little "out" sometimes. In memory of Richard Wright *All rights are reserved to the owners. This is my attempt on the amazing guitar solo of Pink Floyds legendary song "Echoes". I tried to cover the solo David Gilmour played 1971 during their performance at Pompeii. It was difficult to get the tone right, and there is probably still to much gain, but this is the closest I got.
