The most common reasons come down to training and nutrition. They either don't train with the intensity needed to illicit a response, they aren't actually hitting the target muscle or in rare cases they are overtraining/under recovering. Nutrition is another common reason and while all macronutrients play a role more often than not it's because they have an insufficient amount of protein in their diet. After that you want to make sure you stack the deck in your favor by eating health fats and centering your carbohydrate intake around when you train but at the end of the day protein is king. Lastly there are a few people who are doing everything right but still not getting results. If that's you then you need to test! Everything from blood, saliva, urine and stool. Ryan this is so true, I had a lifting partner say he was a hardgainer and while lifting, man was the most robotic lifter i’ve ever seen in my entire life. Zero intensity while training. Bro just there doing pointless reps and wondering why he can’t grow.

Hard gainers usually just miss one of the key steps: Sleep, food, training and poon.
I thought I was a hardgainer too. Until I started training really hard and shoving one can of tuna per day. Maybe not the best way of achieving the goals, but I can finally see the results.
I used to be a “hardgainer”… till, yea… it was because I wasn’t eating enough. The sad reality is we all start out at different levels of weight, height, metabolism etc etc. Us skinny dudes just gotta fucking eat.

Talking about overtraining...
I used to be able to train 6 days per week withou any problem in the past (so last 2 years), now once I've got back to the gym after like 6 months of stop, I can't really do it anymore.
I feel more tired, almost always feel the muscles I trained hurting even 3 days after I trained them (so when I would train them again, resulting either in me sucking that day or skipping cause I haven't fully recovered yet).
How can I understand what happened and how?
you should just advocate the same drugs you are on instead of just coming down on people who try natural healthy exercise with your better than everyone smart ass attitude.
There are so many people that advacate to save reps in the tank whey is that and pump up the sets i have always liked to go to failure not a ton of set more like DC workouts
Training to failure is the best way to snap all ur shit up, specially in a dangarous exercise like squats
I'm definitely an asshole. I never eat enough. When I try, I just get bloated and feel like shit. I've been in great shape before and gotten over the whole "I'm just a poor ectomorph" thing...but I've never been able to put on much mass. I don't know if it's a digestion thing, but I'm not shitting in a box and mailing it to...well, maybe I would mail it to AOC. But that's it.

I've trained with a lot of "Hardgainers" and I've noticed the same things with all of them. They either don't eat enough protein or food in general or they train like absolute weenies. Good video as always.
