Carbon shoes make your feet weak, the best thing is to use them in some sessions but not always, is better to save them for race day

Hi,
Which zone I have to be in on a race day?
youtube.com/results?search_query=%23gtncoachescorner #gtncoachescorner - Hi I am looking to do more zone 2 training as part of an 80/20 training plan. If I put my max heart rate into both Garmin and Strava they come up with different heart rate zones with Strava being significantly higher than Garmin. Going by being able to talk in full sentences when running I would say that Garmin feels more accurate, but just wondered if I should be building up to use the Strava percentage for zone 2 or if one is better than the other? (will custom Strava to match Garmin if that is the best range)
youtube.com/results?search_query=%23gtncoachescorner #gtncoachescorner I keep skipping my core strength training sessions but feel like my core is getting much stronger anyway (perhaps due to swimming?). Can I get away with this or will it affect me later?
Carbon plate running shoes injure your wallet!
Vo2 max testing has proven there's no cross over between cycling and running , I'm sure the Kenyans etc don't go out and bike , same goes for the tdf riders no running on the books zero
youtube.com/results?search_query=%23gtncoachescorner #GTNCoachesCorner Are there any special considerations for fueling a 70.3 for those who have had gastric bypass weight loss surgery?
I did a hold one month out of my full, used it as an B race to test if all was in good order. It allowed me to test nutrition and pacing. I placed it in my training schedule and replaced a long weekend training for the race. in 2023 I will do a OD early March, Half Mid March and a Full by the end of April.. a slow buildup. For me it worked out perfectly.
youtube.com/results?search_query=%23gtncoachescorner #gtncoachescorner if you’ve been training in three disciplines but are in a training block for a running race can you increase your running by more than the recommended 10% per week as you are lowering the volume in the other disciplines?
Thanks for all the great content!!
Why don't you promote satellite shifters on the aero bars? My biggest satisfaction wasn't with adding the aero bars, but with putting satellite shifters on those aero bars. Without the satellite shifters, I had to frequently get my hands off the aero bars to reach out to shifters and change gears, which was very inefficient. Now, with the satellite shifters, my rides go much smoother.
youtube.com/results?search_query=%23gtncoachescorner #gtncoachescorner I've signed up for a half Ironman in June next year (my second crack at this event) as well as a marathon in July, bang on 4 weeks after which will be my first marathon.
What would be the best way to transition my training to recover and prep for the marathon in such a short turn around? The half iron will be my A race.
When I did my first marathon, the longest distance I ran was half marathons over that summer but I was fairly bike fit. I finished my marathon in 4.5hours sooo its possible, but if you want a fast time then yeah more running time is needed.
Hey GTN
When I have participated in my lokal triathlon club swim practices, I start seeing double for around 15 - 30 min. After end practice + sometimes I get headaches.
Note: I have rubber earplugs in the ear under the whole practice and I have noticed it's not as bad when I have looong pauses every 300 m.
Would be thankful if you could help me

FWIW I focused on upping my running mileage this year and found that running helps my biking more than biking helps my running.
Carbon shoes prevent injury and I train daily in either alpha flys or endorphin pros… max cushion, better energy return, more comfortable, less pain, less impact,
Less injury
I ran in barefoot shoes since 3weeks now. What a difference dayum 😂
Aero bars changed my life. I typically go 2-3 mph faster in the Aero position. It’s a great way to economize your power output. At 6’2” and 230 pounds, I am absolutely the biggest drag issue on my bike. 😂
youtube.com/results?search_query=%23gtncoachescorner #gtncoachescorner As Heather is a triathelete and she had also run 100k, so just wanted to ask her which event will she consider to be the toughest.....UTMB (100 miler) or Norseman. I'm not comparing these events, it's just my curiosity.
Wow, shoes are made from carbon now?? Totally ignorant over here :D
